How billing works
You do not need a subscription to check one assignment
The Assignment Checker’s document-against-brief layer is free and runs without an account. If you want the deeper checks for a single piece of work, the one-time Full Assignment Scan is a single payment for a single scan — no plan, no account, and nothing that renews. A subscription is for people checking work repeatedly across a term.
What the free plan is, and is not
It is not a trial and it does not expire. Everything StudyRef can establish from the documents you upload — word counts, formatting, required sections, citation and reference matching — stays free, with daily fair-use limits that keep the tools available rather than pushing you towards a plan. What costs money is the analysis that has to reach outside your files and read your sources, because that has a real cost per run.
Payment, renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed monthly by Stripe and renew until you cancel. StudyRef never sees or stores your card details. You can cancel at any time from your account, and access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for. Refunds are covered by the refund policy.
What paid plans do not buy
No plan predicts a grade, checks for plagiarism, detects AI writing, or guarantees a mark. Paying changes how deeply your sources are examined — never whether StudyRef is willing to judge your work. What each tier does and does not do is set out on the about page.
